History of Kashiaish Union
Kashiaish Union Parishad No. 06 under Patia upazila of Chittagong district was united with the present Asia Union Parishad No. 06 (a) about 21 years before independence. The late Alhaj Mufizur Rahman Khan, a prominent personality and businessman of Khan family of Pingla village, held the post of Chairman for about 15 (fifteen) years on the basis of Gram Panchayat created by this Union Parishad.Later, Abdur Sabur Chowdhury, eminent freedom fighter Sultan Ahmed, the late Nurmanal Anwar Khan and the late Md. Idris Mia each held the post of chairman once. It may be mentioned here that the Asia Union Parishad was divided from Kashiash Union while Abdur Sabur Chowdhury was the Chairman.On 18/01/1984, Babu Prem Lal Barua, a prominent zamindar and giant and a resident of Pingala village, donated 90 (ninety) acres of land for Kashiyaish Union Parishad free of cost. The eminent zamindar, Yogesh Chandra Roy Bahadur, lived permanently in the villages of Paraikura (now Anwara) and Kashiyaish. It is known that Kashiaish Union Parishad was named after the village called Kashiaish.
